The opportunities of regulations related to the operations of payment institutions, as well as the requirements imposed on it, will become tighter as Europe soon adopts specific measures in the implementation of the PSD2 Directive (Payment Services Directive 2). Maksuturva wants to be prepared for these changes to the industry and increasingly focus on Compliance functions and Business Intelligence activities. With this in mind Maksuturva has carried out changes in areas of responsibilities and organization in April.
Andreas Stenius will transfer from the duties of Business Controller to become a Compliance Officer. Stenius’ will be responsible for developing EEA-wide risk management and cooperation with authorities, including internal guidance, training and monitoring activities.
Magnus Enckell will transfer from the duties of partner director to performing the role of Controller & BI Director. Enckell will be responsible for Business Intelligence activities to support sales and marketing (inbound marketing, CRM systems and monitoring of profitability), as well as controller duties related internal and external accounting.
Konsta Karvinen’s area of responsibility will expand to include corporate and consumer customer service in addition to ICT development. Karvinen’s title will be Director, DevOps. The goal of the new casting of roles is to further improve the conditions for the kind of agile product development expected in the Fintech sector.
In the future software partnerships will be consolidated into the sales organization and coordinated based on customer needs. In Maksuturva’s customer acquisition management, Sales Director Jacob Segercrantz will be responsible for customer acquisition at the Enterprise level and Key Account Manager Tomas Lundqvist will handle Commerce level customer acquisition.
"The Fintech sector is currently facing very high expectations in resolving the requirements of digitalization. Maksuturva will be capable of effectively resolving the needs imposed by digitalization with its payment institution license issued by the Financial Supervisory Authority and its PCI DSS certificate even better than before on a global scale. A natural step for us is to increasingly grow cross-border transactions. The small organizational change was an important step toward achieving this goal”, says Maksuturva’s CEO Mikael Smeds."
